Stain on your carpet? Here’s what to do…

Carpet stains can really be really annoying to deal with. There are so many different ways your carpet can get stained and each different statin has to be treated differently to get rid of. It can be quite the nightmare. But have no worries, because Emerald Cut Cleaning has put together this list on how to get rid of your carpet stains.

Cold Drink Stains

Gently dab or blot the spillage with a dry towel or cloth. Don’t rub the stain as this could saturate the area of the carpet with the cold drink. Try using a mixture of dish soap, water and vinegar to remove the stain. Put one tablespoon of dish soap, 1/4th cup of white vinegar and mix with water in a spray bottle. Apply generously on the stain and soak the area.

Coffee Stains

Dry the coffee spill with a cloth or towel. If it’s a big spill, make sure you change or dry the dabbing cloth. Try using a mixture of vinegar and non-bleached detergent and water. Spray on to the spill and soak it up.

Blood Stains

Often times during accidents around the home, blood spills on to the carpet. Glass is almost always involved. Make sure you get rid of the glass before start cleaning. Use a combination of cold water and grease fighting or enzyme activated detergent and dab to get the best results. Blood stains are notoriously stubborn, so you might need to repeat the process a few times.

Pet Stains

Clean up the initial mess before tending to the stains. After that apply a mixture of white wine and warm water. Leave for a while and then soak it up. Try using talcum powder or air fresheners in case there is an odor related issue.
